Derwent Inktense Blocks
These chunky water-soluble ink blocks provide vibrant strokes of ink-like color, bringing a new sense of freedom and color to drawing and painting. When used dry, the blocks provide pure vibrant color, but can also be completely washed out and transformed into a translucent ink-like paint which, when dry, can be worked over. Extremely versatile, these sticks of colour and can be used for a wide range of creative effects and are idea for covering large areas.
Inktense Blocks can be used in the following ways...
- like pans of watercolour paint: dip a brush in water, then swab the block to mop up colour and apply to colour paper
- the block itself can be dipped in water and used like a juicy crayon to apply colour directly to paper
- used dry on wet paper for instant intense bleeding and tie-dye like effects
- used dry on dry paper and blended with a wet brush after the fact
Inktense blocks can also be used on fabric to create stunning silk paintings or used for other textile projects.
The 12-color set includes sun yellow, tangerine, poppy red, fuchsia, deep indigo, sea blue, teal green, apple green, leaf green, baked earth, bark and ink black.
The 24-color set contains all the colors of the 12-color set plus sherbet lemon, chili red, shiraz, violet, iris blue, bright blue, Ionian green, field green, mustard, willow, charcoal gray and antique white.
Sets are housed in a protective metal tin.
