Damar Varnish

Damar Varnish is considered to be the best of the natural picture varnishes. It increases the brilliancy of colors and provides moderately high gloss. Damar Varnish protects oil and alkyd paintings by preventing dust and airborne contaminants from adhering. It also responds readily to ordinary solvents used in painting restoration.

Richeson Mediums are tested in accordance to: ASTM D-4236 and bear safety labels to the standards issued by ACMI. While some Richeson mediums are AP approved non-toxic, certain mediums bear the CL label with safety warnings.
